Welcome to the 2011-2012 School Year, SOMS parents, teachers, and students! There are a lot of things going on in the first few months of school!

Tuesday, September 13th at 6:30 is back-to-school night for the 7th and 8th grades. PTSO membership forms will be available in each classroom. Please join! Your voice counts!

Thursday, September 15th at 6:30 is back-to-school night for 6th grade. If you have never had a child in middle school before, we encourage you to come and find out what you can expect, how to make a smooth transition from elementary school, and how to be successful.

General PTSO meetings begin at 7:00 pm in the Ogle lunch room and cover different topics. The list below are suggestions, but we would love to hear ideas from you. Please attend!

• January 10: Academics and MSA prep
• February 15: Drug prevention
• March 13: Internet and cellphone safety
• April 10: Health & Fitness for Kids, Nominations for new PTSO executive board members
